The incredible natural beauty of Thasos

Thasos is known for its incredible crystal clear, white sand beaches with the emerald waters, lush vegetation, lakes, waterfalls, natural springs, and archaeological sites. What follows is a short guide about the must-see attractions, while visiting the island.
Beaches of Thassos:
Thasos has numerous beaches, scattered around the island, all with exotic waters, white sand or pebbles, and pines that reach all the way to the water giving the sea its characteristic emerald hue. Some of those that are really worth a visit are Saliara (Marble Beach) on the northeastern side of the island, Chryssi Akti (Golden Beach) on the east, Paradeisos 22 kilometers away from the island’s capital, Alyki on the southeastern side, Psili Ammos on the southern side, Makryammos on the northern side and very close to Limenas, and Pefkari on the southern side of the island.
Natural attractions of Thassos:
Giola is a stunning natural seawater pool, approximately 40 kilometers from Limenas, on the southern side of the island. The rocks surrounding it are about 8 meters high. The natural Springs of Love is yet another must-see place, located in the scenic traditional village of Panagia, filled with small cafés and taverns, serving local delicacies. Maries is one of the oldest and most beautiful villages of Thasos that dates back to Medieval Times. The lake located there is simply stunning, and its waterfalls are impressive.

Among the numerous attractions of the island are the incredibly scenic mountainous village of Theologos, Aliki archaeological site, the Ancient Agora, the Archaeological Museum, the Kallirachi Folk Art Museum, the Monastery of Archangel Michael, the Monastery of Virgin Mary, the Kalogeriko, and the Vagis Museum in Potamia.
The island also offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities that will fascinate nature-lovers and sports enthusiasts, including hiking, horseback riding, scuba diving, water sports, and off-road driving. Thasos surely has many secret corners where everyone will find their own paradise.
